Dr. Huang came to Southwest Sciences in February 2009. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School and held a research associate position at Rice University, where he investigated optical diagnostics and instrumentation for biomedical imaging applications including optical coherence tomography, confocal, reflective and fluorescent microscopy. Cy is a Member of SPIE, OSA, IEEE and MRS. His interests and expertise include:
- Optical bioimaging instrument development and imaging analysis
- Nano/bio/electronic/optical materials and laser-material interactions
- Interdisciplinary knowledge in lasers, optics, bioimaging, materials and electrical engineering
- Hands-on experience in solid-state lasers, gas lasers, fiber lasers, laser instrumentation and characterization
- Design, optimization and testing of optical components and systems, photonic devices and semiconductor processing
Cy holds 2 patents and over 30 peer-reviewed publications.
